I wanted to take a moment to share an incredible experience that has
profoundly impacted my life and the lives of others. Recently, I had the
privilege of assisting a struggling family in Mombasa, Kenya, and I
believe their story will touch your heart as it has mine.
This family of six has been living in dire circumstances, facing daily
challenges that many of us cannot even imagine. One of their most basic
needs – access to clean water – was a constant struggle. They had to
venture out daily just to fetch water, a task that consumed much of
their time and energy.
Upon learning about their situation, I felt compelled to act. I have
taken several steps to improve their living conditions:
1. **Medical Assistance**: I covered the medical expenses for the
mother's broken leg and her daughter's broken arm, ensuring they
received proper care.
2. **Water Access**: I purchased a large water tank and am arranging for
plumbing to be installed, bringing water directly into their home. This
will dramatically improve their hygiene and quality of life.
3. **Entertainment**: To bring some joy into their lives, I provided
them with a television.
4. **Future Plans**: My next goal is to help them start a small
business, enabling them to sustain a better lifestyle in the long term.
Most recently, I sent an oven and fridge with the intention of setting
up a bakery business for them.
As an Australian, I feel incredibly fortunate and believe it is our duty
to help those who are less fortunate. This experience has been immensely
rewarding for me, and I am committed to continuing my support for this
family and others in need.
I share this story not from a place of boasting but rather as an
inspiration. If we all take small steps toward helping others, we can
create significant positive change in the world around us. I encourage

I wanted to take a moment to share the ongoing project I am involved in,
which aims to assist a family in need in Asia. Last year, I met a
grandmother, her daughter, and her granddaughter who were living under
dire circumstances. They were struggling to survive on approximately $3
per day and often found themselves without basic necessities.
In my effort to help them overcome starvation, I facilitated the
installation of a borehole that provides them with water for domestic
use. This improvement has enabled them to have access to clean water,
including a shower and toilet facilities within their home.
To further support their livelihood, I have opened a small store selling
food items at their residence. It has been an exciting venture that
allows them to generate income while serving the local community.
Recently, I sent a box of essential goods including a microwave oven,
clothing, toiletries, and various other necessities.
Additionally, as they are now solely reliant on each other after the
passing of their father, I purchased a female pig for them to start
farming. They have also begun growing vegetables and are equipped with
gardening tools and linens.
Despite these advancements, challenges continue to arise. The recent
COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated adjustments; thus far I have
introduced chickens and additional farm animals into their care.
Unfortunately, the roof of their home was damaged in strong winds
recently; however, I ensured it was replaced promptly.
Tragically, they recently experienced devastation due to a typhoon that
severely impacted much of what we had built together. While this setback
is significant and poses new challenges for the family’s stability, my
commitment remains steadfast until they can ultimately sustain
themselves independently.
I am pleased to report that they now possess everything necessary for
success—a general store serving the community and educational
opportunities for the young girl pursuing hairdressing training.
Furthermore, transportation has been made possible through a motorcycle
with sidecar for transporting goods.
This journey has been immensely rewarding for me personally as we
continue working toward improving their quality of life despite setbacks
along the way.
